Ewincher electric winch handle batteries have a great autonomy, enough to sail a day without a problem. Example of use on a 40 feet sailboat with a 15 knots wind:
Hoist 3 times the main sail
Tack about 25 to 30 times
Charging time: 1h 30min - 12 Vdc and 220 Vac
For sailboats bigger than 12 m / 40 feet, we recommend having a spare battery.
Do you need one or two batteries?
The decision to opt for a second battery depends mainly on the size of your boat and your sailing habits. Generally, one battery is sufficient for more than one day's navigation on boats under 45 feet : so, a second battery is not necessary in this case. In the case of larger boats, a second battery may be useful, depending on your use. In case of doubt, do not hesitate to contact us.
